25% rise seems a bit steep, though nothing surprises me with travel companies anymore.

I have the pleasure of paying £3300 a year for the pleasure of travelling to work already and that's just shoebury to fenchurch st.

Captive market.

They know you can't feasibly drive in the city and for many, commuting by bus or coach simply proves you're poor, so that's a complete no-no.

Years of dragging heels over transport infrastructure augmented by a reluctance to change that attitude really only leads to one thing.

A few years back I could get a zone 2-6 but they scrapped that to 1-6 also. Going back even further they did a weekend travel card. There mainly all foriegn companies also.

they are taking the piss. they keep going on about investment and repairs as the reason for the constant increases but other countries don't milk the passengers the same way on their rail systems. it's all about dividends for the parasite directors, why don't they just be honest about it. cunts

Disgrace. Like the energy companies and petrol stations. They have you by the bollocks and they know it. The UK has never been a place where value for money is common. Always being ripped off to the maximum.

As I said. Disgrace.

They are trying to force everyone onto Oyster or contactless which is much cheaper.

Once they do this, they have even less need for ticket offices and they can save even more money

Re: Travel Cards 8.90 up to 12.00
Reading the new prices an 1-6 Oyster cap is now £11.70 off peak up from £8.50, but a peak is also £11.70 down from £15

You have a choice:

Live near to where you work, or, work near to where you live.

Fares must be a major consideration when you choose a place to live.

Re: Travel Cards 8.90 up to 12.00
I rarely travek to London these days but when I do I have a PAYG Oyster. Saying that, at around £2.20 a pop if you have a few journeys to make plus maybe a bus you have to weigh up if a travelcard is better if using it all day. So how much is an all day PAYG oyster or do they not do that?
